Privacy Policy - BioQuiz

Last Updated: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the BioQuiz app (the "App") and explains how we handle your information when you use the App.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after an update means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

BioQuiz is a biology quiz app whose content runs locally on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not operate our own servers to receive, store, or process your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

We do not directly collect personal information from users, and we do not operate our own servers.

The App asks only for your name during the initial setup, for the sole purpose of personalizing your experience. This name is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or to third parties.

The App does not request your email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, camera access, or other personally identifiable information.

However, we use Google services (Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob) that collect usage data, crash logs, diagnostic information, and device identifiers for analytics, stability, and advertising purposes. This data is transmitted off the device and processed by Google, as described in the sections below.

Data Stored Locally

The App may store the following data locally on your device:

This data is used only to provide the App experience on your device. It is not sent to our own servers.

Google Analytics for Firebase (Usage Analytics)

Firebase Analytics helps us understand, in an aggregated and anonymous way, how the App is used β€” for example, which screens and quizzes are accessed most and whether errors occur β€” so that we can improve it. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and the name you enter in the App is not sent to Firebase.

Data automatically collected by Firebase Analytics:

How to limit analytics collection:

Firebase Crashlytics (Crash Reporting)

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect, log, and fix crashes and errors, keeping the App stable. When a crash occurs, a report is automatically sent to Google.

Data collected by Crashlytics:

These reports are used solely for diagnosing and fixing problems. We do not include personal data, such as the name you entered in the App, in crash reports.

Analytics and crash data are collected and processed by Google according to Google's own policies. For more information:

Advertising Data

The App uses Google AdMob to display ads. Google AdMob is a third-party advertising service provided by Google.

Although we do not directly collect personal information, Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process certain information for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and service improvement. This may include, for example:

Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own policies. For more information, please review:

Purchases and App Store Services

The App offers an optional purchase to remove ads. Payments, receipts, refunds, account data, and billing information are processed by the app store provider (Google Play or the Apple App Store), according to that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

We do not receive or store your payment card details. The App only stores locally the information that the ad-removal purchase has been made, so that ads are no longer displayed in subsequent sessions.

3. How We Use Information

We use local App data only to:

We use the data collected by Firebase Analytics only in aggregate, to understand how the App is used and to prioritize improvements, and the data collected by Firebase Crashlytics only to identify and fix crashes, errors, and stability issues.

Google AdMob may use advertising data as described in Google's policies, including to provide ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve advertising services.

4. How We Keep Your Information

Usage data, progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not set a server-side retention period because we do not store this information on our own servers.

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App data, reset the device, or uninstall the App.

Analytics, crash, advertising, and app store data handled by Google (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, AdMob, and Google Play), Apple, or other providers is retained according to those providers' own policies. Crashlytics crash reports are retained by Google for up to 90 days.

5. Your Rights and Options

You can delete locally stored App data at any time by using any available in-app reset/delete options, clearing the App data in your device settings, or uninstalling the App.

Deleting local data may permanently remove your name, progress, statistics, and preferences.

Opt Out of Personalized Advertising

You may be able to limit personalized ads through your device settings.

For Android devices:

For iOS devices:

You may still see ads after changing these settings, but they may be less personalized.

Limit Analytics and Diagnostics Collection

You can reset or limit the use of your Advertising ID in your device settings (same path described above), which also resets the app-instance ID used by Firebase Analytics.

Uninstalling the App stops the collection of analytics and crash report data.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not share personal information collected directly by us, because we do not directly collect such information.

However, the App transmits usage, diagnostic, and advertising data to the following partners, which process it according to their own privacy policies:

These partners commit to complying with applicable data protection laws (including the LGPD), using the information only for the specified purposes, and maintaining its confidentiality.

7. Security

Because data is stored locally on your device, security depends primarily on your device's protection. We recommend keeping your device protected with a password, PIN, or biometrics.

8. Children

The App is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can review the situation.

Because App data is stored locally, parents or guardians can also delete it by clearing the App data or uninstalling the App from the device.

9. Links to Third-Party Sites

This Privacy Policy may contain links to third-party websites or policies. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or policies of third-party services.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when needed, including to reflect changes in the App, third-party SDKs, app store requirements, or applicable laws.

The latest version will be identified by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.

11. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws applicable to the user's jurisdiction, including, where applicable, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD - Law No. 13.709/2018).
